  • Accompaniment : All pieces may be accompanied by pitched instruments. The number of accompanists is unlimited.
  • Winners of C0 Category WILL NOT BE COMPETING AT GRAND CHAMPION COMPETITION

C1 – Children’s Choir 1 (Below 13 years)

  • Age : < 13 y.o (born after 14 February 2013) 10% of singers may be 1 year older (born after 14 February 2012)
  • Number of singers : 20 – 50 singers (conductors and musicians excluded)
  • Voice Composition : SA / SA divisi.
  • Pieces : 3 pieces :
    • 1 piece by composer born before 1900
    • 1 piece by Indonesian composer / arranger
    • 1 piece of free choice
    • Folksong and Popular Songs are NOT ALLOWED in this category
  • Duration : maximum of 12 minutes

C2 – Children’s Choir 2 (Below 16 years)

M1 – Mixed Youth Choir (Below 19 years)

  • Voice Composition : SATB / SATB divisi.
  • Pieces : 3 pieces :
    • 1 piece by a composer born before 1900
    • 1 piece by Indonesian composer / arranger

  • Voice Composition : mixed or equal voices
  • Pieces : unlimited number of pieces which includes :
    • A minimum of 1 piece by a composer born before 1900
    • A minimum of 1 piece by an Indonesian composer
  • Duration : 9 – 12 minutes
  • Accompaniment : All pieces must not be accompanied by pitched instruments. The number of accompanists is unlimited.

F – Folklore (Below 23 years)

  • Age : < 23 y.o (born after 14 February 2003) 10% of singers may be 1 year older (born after 14 February 2002)
  • Number of singers : 20 – 50 singers (conductors and musicians excluded)
  • Voice Composition : mixed or equal voices
  • Pieces : unlimited number of pieces which includes :
    • A minimum of 1 Indonesian Folklore
    • A minimum of 1 non-Indonesian Folklore
  • Duration : 9 – 12 minutes
  • Accompaniment : a maximum of 1 piece may be accompanied by pitched instruments. The number of accompanists is unlimited.

P – Pop and Jazz (Below 23 years)

  • Age : < 23 y.o (born after 14 February 2003) 10% of singers may be 1 year older (born after 14 February 2002)
  • Number of singers : 20 – 50 singers (conductors and musicians excluded)
  • Voice Composition : mixed or equal voices
  • Pieces : 3 pieces :
    • 1 Pop / Jazz piece with Indonesian Language
    • 1 Pop / Jazz piece by Indonesian composer / arranger
    • 1 free choice of Pop / Jazz piece
  • Duration : maximum of 12 minutes.
  • Accompaniment : a maximum of 1 piece may be accompanied by pitched instruments. The number of accompanists is unlimited.

Grand Champion Competition

The participants of Grand Champion Competition is the winner of each category (excluding C0 – Early Children category), and choirs that are nominated by the Artistic Panel. The participant must achieved Gold Medal with minimum score of 85.00 to be nominated to the Grand Champion Competition.

  • Age : according to the qualifying category
  • Number of singers : 20 – 50 singers (conductors and musicians excluded)
  • Voice Composition : according to the qualifying category
  • Pieces : 2 pieces :
    • 1 piece that has not been performed by the choir in all previous qualifying category during SAICF 2026.
    • 1 piece of free choice (may be repeated from the previous category that won the choir a place in the Grand Champion, or another new piece)
  • Duration : maximum of 10 minutes. Only for Grand Champion Competition, the duration is pure singing time.
  • Accompaniment : a maximum of 1 piece may be accompanied by pitched instruments. The number of accompanists is unlimited.
